BlightyBiltongCo is an ambitious young company specialising in air-curing only the most exclusive and delicious meats available here in good old Blighty. 

Founded in 2016 by David Edgar, raised in the heart of Cheshire, David, aged 12, would promote his mothers co-directed company Alternative Meats by attending famers markets and trade-shows, showing off all the fantastic meats on offer by performing cooking demonstrations on how to cook ostrich and other exotic game. It was then that he met a South African exhibitor on the neighbouring stall, promoting and sharing his home-made biltong. David was instantly hooked! Little did he realise the impact this would have and yet from an early age, the passion was there and it became only a matter of time before he revisited his past.

 A qualified skipper, over the last 10 years David has been sailing across the oceans and exploring some of the most beautiful locations in the world.  During his adventures he has been lucky enough to sample a wide range of exotic delicacies, aromatic spices and flavours, all the while working  alongside some fantastic chefs, forever broadening his appreciation of all things foodie.

Spotting an opportunity to create an amazing product by utilizing the buttery, melt-in-the-mouth Welsh Wagyu and hand-crafting it into one very special ready-to-eat biltong snack, David leapt at the chance and imported a drying cabinet from South Africa. He has since worked tirelessly, studying not only the science, but also the art of biltong curing. With the help of an innovative British spice company he is now producing two different types of beef in three different flavours.
